...created by artist Nicole Schofield. She hails from the Smallest State in the USA, Rhode Island, where she earned a degree in Art Education from Rhode Island College.  Here she fell in love with metals and construction and took this for her course concentration.

After an extended travelling stint and art hiatus, Nicole has settled down on a vineyard in Central Otago where she can keep all her art supplies in one spot.

​

In 2015/2016, Nicole worked with a little help from her friends to convert a 20 foot shipping container into an inspirational studio space. Using 80% scrounged and found materials, The Container Bernadette is a work of art unto itself. 

​

Looking to learn more and realising the need for qualified manufacturing jewellers in New Zealand, Nicole enrolled in a formal apprenticeship program through the Jewellers and Watchmakers of New Zealand. The beginning of 2020 marks one year remaining in her formal training.

​

Custom work, repairs and locally inspired design is what is keeping her busy when not at the apprentice bench! Independant, small business, local, handmade are all the key words to describe this one woman show.
